Sweet & Spicy Baked Shrimp

Sweet & Spicy Baked Shrimp

Ingredients

For 2 people

  • 1 cup(s) granulated sugar
  • 2 floz Hennessy Cognac
  • 2 floz Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) fresh ground pepper
  • 1 large clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • 3 teaspoon(s) lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon(s) minced fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper powder from cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) dry thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) turmeric
  • 1/8 cup(s) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon(s) vegetable oil
  • 4 large shrimp, peeled, with tail

Directions

Heat oven to 500 degrees. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, salt, pepper, garlic, ginger, cayenne, Hennessy, thyme, turmeric and flour. Grease large baking sheet with vegetable oil. Pour the shrimp in the sugar mixture and place on the baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes or until the sugar is caramelized. Remove the shrimp from the oven, turn over with a spatula and squeeze the lime juice and Grand Marnier over them. Place on a platter and serve
