Matzoh

Forget the boxed brand -- learn how to make your own matzo. This very basic recipe may take some time, but it's a great way to get familiar with how great the homemade version of this Jewish baked good can be.

Matzoh

Ingredients

For 1 people

  • 2 cup(s) all purpose flour
  • 1 cup(s) whole wheat flour
  • 1 spring water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix two flours together and add water until you have soft dough. Knead about five minutes. Let dough rest a couple of minutes.
  3. Break off egg-sized portions of dough. Stretch as thinly as you can before rolling into thin, oval slabs that are as thin as possible. Prick each slab with a fork. Place on baking sheet and as soon as sheet is filled with matzohs, place in oven, and bake until crisp and buckled, about 3 minutes. Cool and eat.
