Barbecue Shrimp and Grits
This is a tangy version of the classic Southern comfort food.
At a glance
4 large shrimp
2 tbsp. olive oil
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tbsp. butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup fresh Southern style grits
1/3 cup homemade barbecue sauce
2 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
2 oz. shredded Jack cheese
2 oz. fresh chopped bacon
1. Sauté large shrimp in olive oil, lemon juice and butter.
2. Salt and pepper to taste.
3. Pour grits on plate or in martini glass and add shrimp.
4. Top with barbecue sauce, cheeses and bacon.
