There's no reason to waffle over this breakfast. Start the morning out light, with our homemade waffles. Kick the dish up a notch with strawberries, bananas, peaches or other fresh fruit.

Ingredients
1 1/4 cups of sifted cake flour or 1 2/3 cup unbleached flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
6 fluid oz. eggs or 4 large eggs
2 cups buttermilk
2 sticks of butter

Methods/steps
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat eggs and buttermilk until well mixed. Add to flour mixture and beat lightly with a fork until flour is moistened. Stir in the butter. The batter should be lumpy. Over mixing will produce tough waffles.
Bake until golden brown and serve warm.
