Traditional breakfast casserole with a not-so-typical taste. This casserole combines eggs, sausage, onions and cheese to start the morning of with a delectable dish.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 cup onions, chopped
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 4 slices bread, cubed
  • 1 cup cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • Methods/steps
    1. Cook sausage and onion until done; break into small pieces. Drain and set aside.
    2. Combine eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard into mixing bowl. Mix well.
    3. Grease a 13 x 9 inch casserole dish with the butter.
    4. Layer the cubed bread, sausage, and 1/2-cup cheese into dish.
    5. Pour in the egg mixture and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
    6. Bake uncovered in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minute.
    7. This recipe can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated prior to baking.
