This one is for the pop aficionado in you. For those who have a soft spot for soda, this homemade version is a cool alternative to the common canned kinds. The kids are sure to get a non-caffeinated kick out of making it.

Ingredients
  • 1 envelope Kool-Aid Unsweetened Soft Drink Mix, any flavor
  • 1 cup granulated sugar or sugar substitute equivalent
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (28 fluid oz.) bottle club soda, chilled
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream or fruit-flavored sherbet

  • Methods/steps

    Dissolve soft drink mix and sugar or substitute in water in nonmetal bowl or pitcher. Stir in club soda. Place a small scoop of ice cream in each of 6 tall glasses. Stir in soda mixture; top with a second scoop of ice cream.
