Have some fun with fondue. This fondue casserole is more than a hot dish of melted cheese prepared on a layer of bread. It's got some extra ingredients that give it an award-winning kick.

Ingredients
For 8 people
6 slices French bread, 1 ½ inch cubes
4eggs
3 cup(s) grated sharp cheddar cheese
3 1/2 cup(s) milk
3/4 cup(s) canned mushrooms, drained
2 tablespoon(s) chopped pimiento
1 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
1 teaspoon(s) paprika
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
8 ounce(s) ham, cubed or bacon, fried & crumbled
Directions
Trim crusts from bread and cut into cubes. Arrange in bottom of greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Beat eggs well; add remaining ingredients and pour over bread. Refrigerate overnight or for at least 6 hours; bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley.
