Special Breakfast Casserole

Ready to be egged on? This traditional breakfast casserole just got elevated to the next level with the addition of sausage and shrooms. A medley of mouthwatering flavors, it is definitely all it is cracked up to be.

Ingredients
  

  • 24 ounce(s) sausage
  • 6 slices bread, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 2 cup(s) milk
  • 1 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup(s) mushroom pieces, drained
  • 1/4 cup(s) green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup(s) green onion, diced

Instructions
 

  • Crumble and fry the sausage, drain.
  • Layer bread in bottom of 9 x 13 inch well-greased baking pan.
  • Sprinkle sausage over bread.
  • Add cheese.
  • Beat eggs and mix with remaining ingredients.
  • Pour slowly over cheese.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes and serve.
