Crunchy Cereal Balls

Fun to make and fun to eat, this rice cereal treat recipe is a great way to get kids in to the kitchen. Experiment with different types of candies and shapes depending on your personal tastes. Great for holidays, parties and snacks, these treats are sure to disappear as quickly as they are made.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup(s) butter
  • 1/4 cup(s) peanut butter
  • 4 cup(s) miniature marshmallows
  • 3 1/2 cup(s) crisp rice cereal
  • 1 cup(s) soft fruit flavored candies, cut in 1/4 inch pieces

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter and peanut butter in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth (2 to 3 minutes).
  • Add marshmallows; continue cooking, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted (4 to 6 minutes).
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in cereal and candies.
  • Shape mixture into 1-in.
  • balls; place on waxed paper.
  • Let stand 30 minutes.
  • Store between layers of waxed paper in airtight container.
