Seafood-less Salad
If the salad becomes too rich in mayo, add a large spoonful of sour cream and mix until desired taste is achieved.
Ingredients
- 1 cup(s) sour cream (will not use whole container)
- 30 tablespoon(s) jar mayonnaise (15 oz.)
- 2 cup(s) imitation crabmeat, shredded, cut up or flaked (1-2 pkgs.)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 stalk of celery, cleaned and sliced very thin (optional)
- 1 Old bay seasoning, to taste
- 1 garlic powder, to taste
Instructions
- Place desired amount of onion and celery into a large mixing bowl.
- Add crabmeat, and sprinkle in a little bit of garlic powder.
- Lightly toss together.
- Add mayonnaise, starting with roughly half the container, and one scoop of sour cream.
- Mix.
- Add more mayo and sour cream until desired creaminess is achieved.
- Sprinkle Old Bay over the top of the mixture and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, if not overnight.
- Mix well.
- Taste for seasonings.
- Add more Old Bay if needed also.
- Serve cold.
