Barbecue Shrimp and Grits
Nothing says Southern comfort like shrimp and grits. This tangy version is full of barbecue goodness and is perfect for any meal, from a Sunday brunch to a dinner party.
Ingredients
- 4 large shrimp
- 2 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoon(s) lemon juice (approx. yield of .5 lemon)
- 2 tablespoon(s) butter
- 1 dash(es) salt
- 1 dash(es) pepper
- 1/2 cup(s) fresh Southern style grits
- 5 333/1000 tablespoon(s) homemade barbecue sauce
- 2 ounce(s) shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 ounce(s) shredded Jack cheese
- 2 ounce(s) fresh chopped bacon
Instructions
- Saute large shrimp in olive oil, lemon juice and butter.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour grits on plate or in martini glass and add shrimp.
- Top with barbecue sauce, cheeses and bacon.
