Rice with Herbs
Most people take plain white rice with a grain of salt. But that can't be said of this delicious side dish that incorporates fresh herbs into the popular dinnertime staple. Serve with chicken, pork and beef.
Ingredients
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cup(s) uncooked rice (white, brown, or wild)
- 4 cup(s) chicken broth
- 1/4 cup(s) butter
- 1 teaspoon(s) fresh marjoram, diced
- 1 teaspoon(s) fresh thyme, diced
- 1 tablespoon(s) fresh parsley, diced
- 1/50 cup(s) fresh basil, diced
Instructions
- Sautee onions and garlic in butter, until translucent.
- Incorporate the rice and spices and cook for several minutes.
- Stir in chicken broth.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes or until all broth is absorbed.
