The Hottest Hairstyle Trend Is Tousled

Great news for wavy-haired women who can't seem to get those tresses to just lie down and be straight. You don't have to! The latest trend in hairstyles is a carryover from the summer, when beachy waves with highlights were all the rage. Take the beach out of your hair - and the bleach - for a softer, richer winter look. Lots and lots of celebrities are opting for the lob - long, tousled bob. A traditional bob hits just at the jaw and is usually straight, but the lob can vary in length, tending to hit at or just below the shoulders. Stars who have been sporting the 'do include Jennifer Aniston, Fergie and Scarlett Johansson. It doesn't take too much styling or upkeep, so for low-maintenance ladies, it's the perfect cut and style.

It works best with layered hair that has some natural curl to it. Some of the edgier incarnations of the cut include sideswept bangs and razor-cut hair that gets shorter toward the back. But really just an easy, layered cut works. Here's how to get the look. It doesn't require super-clean hair, but start with damp, towel-dried hair. Mixing a little gel and conditioner and working it through hair helps create waves for straight-haired girls. For wavy girls, all it takes is some curl-enhancing gel or styling cream worked evenly through hair, roots to end, scrunching at the ends. Blow dry hair upside-down to increase volume and finger style. If you need more waves, use a small-barreled curling iron to add a few strategically placed loose curls. It's winter, and the hair styling's easy!
