Best Bras for Your Outfits
How many times have you chosen what seems like the perfect outfit…yet something still just isn’t right about the way it looks? It could be what’s under the clothing that’s ruining your look. Take a peek in your underwear drawer to see if you have the perfect undergarments to go under your garments. Bras come in all shapes and sizes – and there’s a great fit for every outfit. First, have your chest professionally sized before choosing a bra. The majority of women wear an incorrectly sized bra, resulting in red shoulder marks, spillage or space in the cups, and other uncomfortable situations for “the girls.” The classic t-shirt or fitted button-down shirt calls for a demure bra that doesn’t have a lot of adornment. Lace can make the front of a close-fitting t-shirt look bumpy, so it’s best to steer clear of these styles. Also consider eschewing styles that are sheer – you might show more than you care to through that fitted tee or blouse. Solid-colored cotton underwire bras with a light liner make perfect bras for t-shirts and blouses. If your breasts are on the larger side, then you can consider a minimizing bra or sports bra for t-shirts. Low-cut cardigans and V-neck tops beg for a plunge bra, in which cups are triangle-shaped and typically fasten in the front. A demi cup is a good idea as well – this is simply a lower-cut cup that goes great with V-necks or boatnecks. This way, the plunging neckline won’t reveal what’s underneath. We’ve all seen – or been guilty of – wearing bras under tank tops that prominently display straps. Fashion experts agree it’s not a good look. Opt for a strapless bra or a racerback bra if the top is narrow in the upper back area. For evening looks, strapless bras work great, but if your dress is backless, then you may be tempted to do without a bra. With flimsy fabrics like silk and taffeta, however, nipples can show through, plus you may not get the support you need. A backless, strapless bra can come in handy in these situations. They’re typically held up with adhesive and come in neutral colors to match more closely the skin or flimsy fabric that covers it. Choose the perfect style, and you’ll never have to worry about hitching up straps or exposing more than you want to.
