Hearty Ziti with Italian Sausage

Ingredients
  

  • 16 ounce(s) Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1/2 cup(s) celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup(s) onions, diced
  • 1 81/100 cup(s) (1-14.5-oz can) peeled diced tomatoes
  • 1 87/100 cup(s) tomato sauce (1-15-oz. can)
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
  • 2 cup(s) dry ziti pasta
  • 9 ounce(s) sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup(s) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup(s) grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees 2.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, mix sausage with celery and onion.
  • Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes until sausage is evenly browned.
  • Drain grease and set aside mixture.
  • In another skillet over medium-low heat, mix tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt, and oregano.
  • Let it simmer while preparing pasta.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  • Cook pasta for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
  • In a 3 quart baking dish, layer ziti, sausage, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, and sauce.
  • Repeat layers, and top with grated Parmesan.
  • Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until browned and bubbly.
