Tea Bag Tips
Tea does a body good – both inside and out. For years, health experts have been touting the benefits of tea for aiding in heart health and preventing stroke. But tea isn’t just a miracle drink. Beauty experts are constantly calling upon tea bags for fast beauty fixes. Take black tea, for example. These handy-dandy tea bags are used for everything from combating puffy eyes to zapping those zits. Suffering from dark circles or puffy eyes? Soak two tea bags in water. Refrigerate them overnight. In the morning, place the tea bags over your eyes for around 20 minutes. Once you’re done treating your eyes, wash your face. If acne is your issue, soak a black tea bag in hot water for a few minutes. When the tea bag cools off, put it on the pimple and leave for up to 10 minutes.Do not wash your face as the tea will continue to treat the blemish throughout the day. And why waste the water? Prepare a cup of tea and wash your face with the tea once it’s cooled down. The tea acts as an astringent and will treat your skin. Looking to tighten and tone your skin, drop four to six tea bags into a quart of hot water. Let the tea bags sit for 10 minutes and then add the mix to a warm bath. Tea is also great for bringing life into dull, dry hair. Use black tea for dark hair and chamomile tea for blonde hair. Rinse hair with brewed, cool tea and let sit for 10 minutes before washing out. This also helps restore balance to the pH of the hair.
