Ingredients
For 8 people
2large eggs
3/4 cup(s) granulated sugar
3 cup(s) milk
1 cup(s) heavy cream
1/2 cup(s) butter, melted
1 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
3/4 cup(s) raisins, seedless
1 teaspoon(s) ground allspice
8slices of white bread
2 cup(s) red raspberries
2 cup(s) strawberries
1/3 cup(s) granulated sugar
1/2 cup(s) orange juice
3 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
Directions
Combine eggs, 3/4 cup sugar, milk, cream, melted butter, vanilla, raisins, and allspice in a bowl; place slices of white bread in a shallow bowl and pour the egg mixture on top; let stand about 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Arrange the bread slices in a greased baking dish and bake uncovered until set and the top is lightly browned, about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine red raspberries, strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, orange juice, and lemon juice. Cook, stirring constantly, until soft, about 5 minutes and process in a food processor until smooth. Heat until warm and serve over bread pudding.
