Here's some chicken soup for the soul AND the stomach. To get even more nutritious bang for your buck, we're substituting brown rice in place of the usual noodles. Yum!

1/3 cup medium barley
1/3 cup red lentils
1/3 cup yellow split peas
2 large ribs celery, sliced
4 large carrots, sliced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 Tbsp. dried parsley
1 Tbsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. powdered ginger
1 tsp. dried marjoram
1/2 to 1 tsp. salt, depending on taste
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
12 cups water
