Encourage your child to communicate through words, not actions. Keep a close watch over the situation when your child is playing with others. Whatever you do, don't ever bite your child back. Even though you're trying to prove a point, you're actually setting a poor example and perpetuating the exact habit you're trying to break. Don't use physical punishment to discipline your child. Drive home the point that biting is not acceptable. If the pattern of behavior continues, you may want to consult with your pediatrician or a counselor to get to the root of the problem. One thing for certain is that this is an issue that you don't want to allow to fester. Take action now before the biting problem gets out of control.
